New beginnings

I recently came to a realization about my view of artistic expression. After taking into account that I am painfully concerned with the danger of creating for attention and glory, I realized that I have overcompensated. Too often have I disregarded the ever-present audience and its role in the game of art. I merely wanted to be more pure and sincere in my attempts to express what I felt, but what I was really doing was isolating myself. Some may be able to create wonderful, relatable pieces of art without ever intending to share them with another person. I, on the other hand, must consider the audience. I need to balance on the fine line between acknowledging the reader and pleasing the reader.
